Last Thursday we hosted an evening of live music in aid of Read With Me. Held at Gloucester Brewery’s wonderful Warehouse 4 taproom, the event featured performances from three bands with their own unique sounds, as well as a delicious (if we do say so ourselves) pay as you feel supper. Guests also had the chance to win some excellent prizes in our raffle, ranging from a fabulous print generously donated by Soozy Roberts of Pumpadelic, to a hamper of treats provided by our partners at Gloucester Services. In total we raised a whopping £1,175 to help fund our vital service and ensure that every child in Gloucestershire can read well before they reach secondary school.
We wanted to say a massive thank you again to everyone who attended the event or supported us in any way, big or small – the event would not have been a success without you. Special thanks to the team at Gloucester Brewery who were busy pulling pints and our three bands: SUSAN, Huw and the Greater Good and Pumpadelic for their outstanding performances and getting our guests up on their feet!
Following the success of the evening, we have decided to make it an annual event on our fundraising calendar. Gloucester Brewery have kindly offered to hold the event again next year on the 16th of May, so save the date on your calendar! We want next year’s event to be even bigger and better, with something for everyone. Keep your eyes peeled on our socials to find out more and to purchase your ticket.
