On Saturday, 28th June, Holy Trinity Church in Minchinhampton was filled with song and community spirit as we celebrated A Night at the Opera – a gala concert in collaboration with the Thames Head Singers.
A Night to Remember
The evening brought together the exceptional Thames Head Singers and talented soloists from the Cardiff Cotswold Opera Company, filling the church with powerful performances of operatic favourites from Verdi, Bizet, and Tchaikovsky. The evening was also a chance to recognise and thank those who have been instrumental in our journey. Before the performances began, we welcomed our long-term supporters, local business representatives and volunteers who have been with us since the very beginning, to celebrate with us in the early evening sunshine. Their unwavering belief in what we do has helped us grow and reach more children than we ever thought possible in just 5 years. Now partnered with over 100 schools, our team of nearly 400 volunteers hear thousands of children read every week.
Another Important Milestone
During the interval, Linda, Director and Founder of Read With Me, gave a short speech and shared another important milestone in our journey: Read With Me is now a registered charity. This recognition strengthens our commitment and gives us a firmer foundation to grow and support even more children.

We would like to thank everyone who made the evening possible: the performers, volunteers, organisers (particularly Cate, Jane and Veronica of Thames Head Singers), audience members, and everyone who donated or bought a raffle ticket. Your support is essential for us to continue helping children in Gloucestershire learn to read well.
